The General Secretary of the Sierra Leone Football Association Chris Kamara has told Politico that his association was set for its congress due in April. Kamara said, " we have put all reports together including the 2012 and 2013 audited accounts while the auditors are at present doing the 2014 accounts."
He said the executive committee has agreed that all clubs should regularize their status ahead of the congress. "We have written to all the 47 members reminding them of their obligations...if it is their right to attend congress it is equally their obligation to meet all requirements before they go to congress as stipulated by the SLFA constitution.
The General Secretary said , "I am expecting clubs to comply fully because there will be a period of grace after the deadline set by the SLFA and after that the next plan of activities for the congress will be rolled out leading to the accreditation of delegates.
Kamara said the "SLFA will never be coerced into going to congress if these conditions are not met."
Asked if insisting on those conditions being met before congress was not a ploy to stop clubs participating, Kamara said the SLFA was not doing this "to stop members from attending the congress but we want members to go by what the constitution is demanding them to do to attend congress...we only need the basic things amongst other on how they have been running their clubs."
