Fond memories of Fourah Bay College

Come October, when the heavy rains pour without stopping us, young and old, with all the fights at Model junction to get on the SU bus, which rarely came, or the overloaded taxis, we rush up Mount Aureol to achieve higher education.

A hill so promising and rewarding…

Down the “blocks”, the boys strive hard to make it….e nor easy don block, wata wata food nar di the canteen, blackout to name a few, but they burn their midnight candles well and the results are there…..

Koroma’s inauguration still on my mind

The debate as to whether there should have been a second inaugural ceremony for President Ernest Bai Koroma still rumbles on. Articles have been written on it and arguments advanced for either side of the discourse. For the sake of this piece I will not delve into whether or not the President should have held a second inauguration. That is for another day. But I will attempt to show some grey areas as I witnessed the entire event from start to finish.

I listened with rapt attention, a couple of days ago, to the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security, Marie Jalloh. She was giving an interview to a lunch time programme on AIT Television. I must say with all honesty that I did admire her. She was highly articulate, very knowledgeable with a dogged determination to accomplish what, in my view, is the unimaginable.
