The appointment of popular football enthusiast and philanthropist Babadi Kamara as Team Manager of Sierra Leone’s national football side Leone Stars has been confirmed. The businessman who is also chairman of high flying Bo Rangers football club will now take full managerial charge of Leone Stars, a position he would hardly find strange, having been seen in very interactive engagements with the players in the build up to the team’s triumph over Benin in the AfCon crucial qualifier played at a neutral venue in Conakry, Guinea.
In a letter addressed to the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) dated 22 July, 2021 Kamara said he had graciously accepted the appointment. He expressed the hope to serve in the best interest of the country and said he was looking forward to working with all stakeholders in the best interest of the game and the nation. His appointment to the position has been mooted for some time now.
