“Football must be played in every Region” - Rodney Michael

A presidential candidate in the fourth coming SLFA 2012 presidential elections Rodney Michael on Monday June 18th said, “Football must be played” in every region of Sierra Leone. Michael made the statement while presenting two hundred Pro -Trainer types of FIFA footballs to all Regional Football Associations on behalf of the Edmond Michael Foundation, named after his father.

“Boxing Association is in total disarray” - Abubakarr Katta.

Assistant captain of the Sierra Leone Boxing Association Abubakarr Katta a.k.a Target, has said that, the Association has been “total disarray” in the last six Months and is “slowly dying.”

Katta said the present executive of the Boxing Association is not recognized by the National Olympic Committee of Sierra Leone and the International Boxing Association because, “They were illegally elected.”

19 teams for Western Areas ARS championship

19 Under 17 teams from both Western Urban and Rural Districts have qualified for the Western Area Airtel Rising Stars Competition. Twelve teams, both boys and girls will participate in this year’s tournament.

The Western Area ARS championship will officially kick off on Wednesday June 27th 2012 in Freetown. The regional tournament will be organized by the Implementing Agency of the tournament, Medium Hypes.

Kamboi Eagles look set for another away win tonight when they lock horns with Ports Authority. In their last outing to Freetown, the boys’ from the East thrashed third place Old Edwardians 3-0. They are hoping to continue this momentum, after drawing at home with Bo Rangers in their last match.
