Kamboi Eagles look set for another away win tonight when they lock horns with Ports Authority. In their last outing to Freetown, the boys’ from the East thrashed third place Old Edwardians 3-0. They are hoping to continue this momentum, after drawing at home with Bo Rangers in their last match.
The Eagles Scribe Abu Bakarr Sidique told Politico Sports that they were well prepared as they play against the defending champions. He acknowledged the fact that they were meeting Ports on the back of the champions’ good run away in Kono where they ended their hosts’ unbeaten record at home. “Ports have the zeal now as a result of their last performance,” he said, adding that their goalless draw with Bo Rangers at home would not affect his team. Their first leg match ended goalless. Ports Authority on the other hand have the potential to win this match after breaking the hundred percent home win record of Diamond Stars in Kono with a slender 1-0 win. The Waterfront Boys are on a mission to turn around their happy-go-lucky image and stabilize their team. Coach Ken Pabi’s game plan has been working, “the confidence is building now, winning games lifts you, there’s no doubt about that,” said Pabi. Tomorrow, Thursday 14 June, FC Johansen will engage East End Lions with the Killers having won their last match against Central Parade 1-0, whilst Johansen held Gem Stars to a 1-1 draw in Tongo. A win for either side will see them occupy the fourth place on the league table. On Friday 15 June, Diamond Stars who are still reeling from their defeat at home will play host to the new league leaders FC Kallon. After losing three matches in a row, will Old Edwardians have a breakthrough when they visit Gem Stars in Tongo?
