Lansana Claye resigns from FC Johansen

The Secretary General/PRO of FC Johansen ,Lansana Claye has resigned his position. In his resignation letter addressed to the C.E.O of the club, Isha Johansen , he requested for all payments and benefits due him be paid. He thanked the entire management of the team for their support and promised his contribution to issues relating to the furtherance of the club’s objectives. He also wished Mrs. Johansen success in her position as SLFA President. .

Inter Area Climax…COFA Awards Ceremony

The Central One football Association (COFA) will hold its award ceremony on Saturday 1st March at the Bee jay Hall ,Circular Road in Freetown, following the end of its inter- area competition this month.  The Association’s Public Relations Officer, Alimamy Sesay said the event will be a  colorful one with many football stake holders  expected to  attend . Players who  proved  extremely well  are  to receive awards as well as  individuals that  contributed to the success of the competition.    Print and electronic sports Journalists are also to be honoured.

FA Cup update…

The first round of the FA Cup has   ended with eight division two teams, namely Nottingham, New Site, Ibrahim FC, Tombo, Lumley Academy, Goderich FC, Blackhall Strikers and Bolton National all going through to the second round .Each team will now face a division one side in the second round which kicks-off on Friday February 28. ,  Eastend Contractors  will meet. Ibrahim FC at the Approved school field while Belvic United will lock horns with Angola United at the K-tee field. March 1  fixtures:  Waterloo vs. Tombo, Kallon Junior  vs. Obama, Brookfields vs.

Big boost for grassroots football

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has received ten thousand United States dollars (US$10,000) from the football world governing body FIFA for the development of grassroots football.

The Media and Marketing department of the FA says they received the news with gratitude to FIFA in a bid to help them develop football locally.

Media Officer, John Konteh said “It is a welcome boost and it will be utilized efficiently for its intended purpose."

Western Area poised to retain Inter-Regional Volleyball Championship…

The reigning champions of the Sierra Leone Volleyball  Association (SLVA) championship 2013, Western Area say they are poised to retain the title in the forthcoming inter-regional volleyball competition which begins over the weekend in Koidu City.

One of the players for Western Area Patrick Lombie bluffed saying "’we have gone through a lot of training for this competitions and we have a steady mind to play and we are set for a good match".
