Big boost for grassroots football

By Kemoh Sesay

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has received ten thousand United States dollars (US$10,000) from the football world governing body FIFA for the development of grassroots football.

The Media and Marketing department of the FA says they received the news with gratitude to FIFA in a bid to help them develop football locally.

Media Officer, John Konteh said “It is a welcome boost and it will be utilized efficiently for its intended purpose."

Konteh spoke about the work of two coaches from Arsenal Football Club Abdul Adam and Mathew Barrack who arrived in Sierra Leone two months ago and are currently implementing a grassroots football project at the Approved School grounds.
