The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has commenced a three-week Coaching Education Course for male and female premier League coaches as well as former national team players.
The training started on Friday 4th November, 2022 at the SLFA Secretariat at Kingtom, in Freetown. The exercise is being facilitated by certified instructors sent by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
In his opening statement, SLFA Vice President 1 Harold Nat-Johnson applauded all participants for their relentless efforts, patience and courage displayed in trying to be part of the training exercise. He noted that, it wasn’t an easy ride to come to this stage, stressing that the process was set strictly on merits.
"You however hung on and showed resilience, which indicates the passion for growth in your respective coaching careers,” he told the participants.
He said, the idea of bringing local coaches up to speed with the evolving global trend of the key principles of effective coaching was mainly SLFA's idea. He encouraged the participants to take the training seriously
The training sets to benefit a total of 60 (sixty) male and female coaches across the country who had gone through a vetted application process.
