The College of Theology, Management and Church Training Centre has incorporated new programmes into their curriculum.
Speaking at their annual public relations week last week, the principal of the college, Rev. Dr. Olivia Wesley said that it was important for Sierra Leone and the world to know that the college, which was named “Theological College and Church Training Center” was now called “College of Theology, Management and Church Training Center”.
She said the college did not just cater for the training of preachers, church leaders, Christian educators and ordinary church members, but also “for the training of development and management workers in its widest sense”.
Celebrating with the theme “Education and Social Cohesion”, Rev. Dr. Wesley said education and social cohesion were like twins working side by side. “Social cohesion is a process of promoting unity, co-operation and the pulling together of society to arrive at a goal for the good of all”, Rev. Dr. Wesley said, adding that “social cohesion would help bridge the cultural, ethnic, religious and social gaps that were now prevalent in our society” she went on.
Outlining their new courses, the principal said the courses ranged from certificate and diploma to degrees in theological studies, human resource management, business administration, marketing management and religious studies. She noted stated that as a college, the training centre was offering programmes to train students for self-development and “satisfaction of our churches and societies.”
