The ongoing football Super League is gaining momentum at the Kaytee field in Freetown and the provincial towns, as FC Kallon make their second trip to Tongo to face Gem Stars on Friday 24 May, after they drew 1-1 with Kamboi Eagles in Kenema.
Speaking to this press the head coach of FC Kallon, Charlie Wright said his boys had taken the league very seriously as it was now getting very competitive.
‘’I have told my boys that these matches are not friendly matches again as we have to put more effort to win the league” he said, adding that his team had exhibited that mentality in the past and assuring “we are in a very good position to win the league”.
He agreed that Gem Stars were a very good team with good players and also tough at home. He said ‘’it is going be a tight match but I believe my boys will take all three points as we want to win’’.
Christian Cole, head coach of Gem Stars said he had a new squad, and that the players he signed were not new to the game, lending credence to “the brilliant performance they put up against East End Lions” which he said proved they were learning.
Cole praised FC Kallon for their “good effort” in leading in the league but assured “we will take our own three points in tomorrow’s match”.
