Frank Magnus Cole who is also vying to become president of SWASAL is adamant that he "will explore new opportunities for the development of local sports. He said SWASAL members, "have been part of all the struggle, intimidation, humiliation, harassment, emotional and physical confrontations and attacks and most of all success stories of sports journalism in Sierra Leone during the past four years."
Cole said, "I have targeted my seven working plans which are: fund-raising, inclusion of women in the national executive, life empowerment, mutual cooperation, welfare of members, ensuring visibility and dominance of Sports world Newspaper, and nationally recognized and accepted identification tags’’.
Cole, who is the incumbent Secretary General said SWASAL has organised several activities "with the help of betting company, Mercury International which has been the association's major sponsor because SWASAL's main source of income- the monthly subscriptions have not been forthcoming, leaving the association reliant on donors."
He pointed out that the inclusion of women in the national executive "is obvious because they have demonstrated beyond doubt their capability and competence in reporting sport much to the admiration of their audiences. I will initiate an affirmative action in SWASAL through a constitutional review that will guarantee exclusively, two executive position to our female members."
