Sierra Leone's Afro rap/pop & techno queen, Barbie Lindsha, is almost done putting finishing touches to her debut album which is set for release next April. The 12-track album which is a fusion of Afro beat, pop and techno sound will feature some of the big names in the NEO-Salone music industry. In one of the hit singles, "YOURS FOREVER" released just few months ago, the German-based Sierra Leone diva collaborated with Edward a.k.a. Flip from the Sierra Leone-based R&B group 411. She also featured up-coming artist, Jouwe, rapper Thug One and Daddy Rhyme. In the song, FRIEND AND LOVER," she featured Jada V. A remix of Barbie Lindsha's hit song "Menteh Menteh" will be included in the new album which has been tentatively named 'BREAKTHROUGH." Fondly called "Barbie L" this young rising star was born in Sierra Leone but currently lives in Germany. A uniquely talented singer and rapper who has had an early calling in the music industry. Lindsha was raised in the Sierra Leonean capital of Freetown. She started her music career at the age of 8 years and spent some time in a church choir. From there, she started building up her voice with the help of her aunt. At the age of 12, she joined her parents in Germany where she later recorded her first single "Menteh Menteh" which was produced by Kevin Bob. At some point, she decided to have a break and focus on her education, but now Barbie L is back with something special that will take Salone music to the top. With all this, She's heading to Freetown in December to finish the album and work on a couple of videos that are due to be released soon.
