Sierra Leone recorded 6.07% and 1.54% increase in COVID-19 total infections and total recoveries respectively over the past five days, from June 15 to June 20, 2021.
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total infections was higher compared to Benin (0.38%), Burkina Faso (0.07%), Cape Verde (1.00%), Ivory Coast (0.57%), Gambia (0.13%), Ghana (0.44%), Guinea (0.22%), Guinea-Bissau (0.58%), Mali (0.20%), Niger (0.31%), Nigeria (0.08%), Senegal (0.74%), Togo (0.62%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.09%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.47%), Africa (2.38%), Europe (0.43%), North America (0.33%), South America (2.55%), Asia (1.26%) and the world (1.09%). However, percentage increase in total infections was higher in Liberia (10.06%) compared to Sierra Leone.
South America (2.29%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Benin (0.98%), Cape Verde (1.81%), Ivory Coast (0.33%), Gambia (0.56%), Ghana (0.51%), Guinea (0.60%), Liberia (1.06%), Mali (0.19%), Niger (0.52%), Senegal (0.26%), Togo (0.79%), MRU (0.46%), ECOWAS (0.32%), Africa (1.54%), Europe (0.45%), North America (0.39%), Asia (2.07%) and the world (1.25%). Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Nigeria and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
However, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was higher compared to Burkina Faso (0.14%), Cape Verde (1.31%), Ivory Coast (0.38%), Gambia (0.09%), Ghana (0.31%), Guinea-Bissau (0.28%), Liberia (0.29%), Mali (0.63%), Niger (0.12%), Nigeria (0.05%), Senegal (0.56%), Togo (0.34%), MRU (1.35%), ECOWAS (0.47%), Europe (0.74%), North America (0.95%) and the world (1.40%). Percentage increase in total recoveries was higher in Guinea (3.55%), Africa (1.59%), South America (2.42%) and Asia (1.69%) compared to Sierra Leone. Benin recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
