As sunlight wanes from the sky,
I see thick black flames billow from across the street.
While I struggle for air,
I trample upon my fallen brothers
Whom I barely recognize.
I see them covered in ruins,
with bodies as though they died naked
And at a place similar to an inferno;
Roasting everything away from them,
Their survival
Their dreams
Their prospects;
Everything.
Indeed, I’ve seen many sorrows
But none dispirits me more as what I discern in front of me now.
They were poor countrymen
whom to their last breath
fought to make a living
out of nothing;
They were men hungry for food and they died on empty stomachs;
They were unhappy men and all of whom represent the most parts of my hometown,
where life only ends at one’s prime.
Now with a heavy heart, I shall say this last goodbye to you all
And pray that you get an eternal blissful rest wherever you may be.
Farewell, folks!!
