The Technical Director of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Sam Obi has said that any coach without a License is not a coach and should not be allowed to sit on any technical bench during a game or travel with a team on international matches.
Speaking at the certification ceremony for ‘B’ License Coaches at SLFA Secretariat in Freetown, Metzger said two football governing bodies - FIFA and CAF have approved law.
He told the new coaches that their performance made him proud. “I have received several e-mails from fellow instructors within the continent congratulating me for such a successful course” adding that “of the 53 states in Africa only 10 have concluded the ‘B’ License course”.
Metzger disclosed that four coaches, Adama Kuyateh, Hannah Williams, Mohamed Kallon and John Keister did extremely well and were recommended by CAF to be future instructors.
Meanwhile three Centre Referees, Raymond Coker, Abdul Karim Kabia and Assistant Referees, Daniel Kargbo, Billy Konneh, Sheriff Newland, and Brainard Sorbeh were also given FIFA badges.
