In order to start their professional career overseas, three players from the Star Sports Academy have left Sierra Leone for trials in Turkey.
The players are; right back Edward Bello Yilla, defensive midfielder, Senesis Janneh, and center back, Marvin Lebbie.
According to the Communications officer of Star Sports Academy, Hawa Dauda, the three players were scouted in the Detect Tournament that was organized by the Academy’s Management early August this year. She said the players attracted the eyes of two ‘renowned football agents’ Bevan Dicks from Turkey and Peter Smith from Belgium who were present during the tournament.
She noted that the two scouts “are well recognized international agents who have facilitated African players move to Asia, Europe, and America. She on behalf of the Academy wished the best for the trio in the trials.
It could be recalled that on the 4th July, 2023, Star Sports Academy welcomed the two agents and scouts in the country in order to develop and expose young talent in Sierra Leone. The agents committed to help in their own way to move the academy forward, which paved the way for the travelling of the players to Turkey for trials.
