Justice Adrian Fisher has ordered a bench warrant for a juror, Osman D. Conteh who could spend one week in detention for failing to attend a murder trial in which he is one of the 12 jurors.
Justice Fisher said at the High Court No.1 on Friday 14th July 2023 that the punishment for the contempt of court offence will be instituted until next Friday, the adjourned date for the murder trial.
The juror was to sit on a case for alleged killing of Mohamed Umarr Karmoh Kamara at Adams Street east of Freetown, in which Santigie Bangura alias Wallay or Jaggay, Abdul Rahman Dumbuya (alais Kondo), Alhassan Kamara alais bigger and David Fortune commonly named stone, were arraigned as first, second, third and fourth accused persons respectively.
They’ve all been indicted on three counts of conspiracy to commit murder, with Fortune charged with being an accessory to a crime.
