All roads lead to the Trade Centre Grounds in Freetown for this year's athletics competition organised by Camp Canada Athletics club.
The holder of the national records in the 110m & 400m hurdles Amara Taylor Kamara told Politico that he is "currently undergoing rigorous training" as he prepares for the 84th traditional Boxing Day Sport meeting at the national stadium.
He said: “The preparation so far is intensive and the athletes are working very hard to prove to spectators that the camp is one of Sierra Leone’s best”, adding “there are lots of challenges but thank God things are going well’.
Asked whether he would participate in next month's event, he replied, “I`m not going to show up because I’m currently in training to get myself 100% fit for the traditional event".
Kamara said he was coming out of retirement to continue his career and win more medals. He boasted: “I was expecting young athletes to have smashed my records but nobody has done that,”
