Alhaji Foray, head coach of the Eagles told Politico on the phone that his team lost the match due to "tactical indiscipline in the field of play coupled with inexperience of some players". The coach described their opponents as "a very good team", but promised "a different game in the second leg because we are using the first match as a learning process for the second leg on Friday 20th February in Algeria".
According to the Public Relations Officer of Kamboi Eagles Issmaile Sesay, the coach of ASO FC, Mohamed Benchwai described the performance of his boys as outstanding despite losing a man in the early part of the match.
