FA Cup winners of Sierra Leone Kamboi Eagles Football Club are in training, ahead of their encounter with Algerian outfit Amel-Saad Olympic Football Club in the preliminary stages of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary in the second week of February.
Eagles head Coach Alhaji Foray said training sessions cover tactics and team work. He said despite the current health situation in the country, "we will face the competition... we have contacted dignitaries in the township to help the team take part in the competition and we have seen lots of commitment from them and we are hoping to take part in the competition.
Foray said "I have been following their performance in the league and they are not doing well at the moment but that notwithstanding they going to give us a tough match, because they have a league that is ongoing while we are not".
According to club chairman Brima Mazola Kamara 30 players have been registered for the competition and "the people of Kenema - resident minister, Mayor, Members of Parliament, Councilors and business have been asked to give their support to the team for the competitions and they have started offering help".
