FC Mamoud of Freetown and Suba Football Club of Makeni will battle it out in the final of the Ernest Bai Koroma trophy at Wusum Stadium in Makeni on Christmas eve.
Head Coach of Mamoud FC said their route to the final was a tough one because "most of the female teams in the competition are very good". He said his players performed well in their qualification matches. Mamoud Kamara told Politico that " I am happy we have reached the finals and I hope to win the trophy".
His opponent, Musa Conteh, Head Coach of Suba FC expressed delight about reaching the finals for the first time and described it as "a big achievement for the club to close the year." He said, "we aim to win the championship from Mamoud FC who have proved very outstanding in the entire competition and I have confidence in my players."
This is the first time a female category has been added to the Ernest Bai Koroma trophy.
