In the match against SLIFA, Saidu Fofanah's second half goal was enough to give FC Kallon the victory to top the Sierra Leone Premier League table once again.
The Cavaliers dominated the second half as SLIFA went three games winless (L2, D1).
FC Kallon were struggling to make a breakthrough until Ibrahim Mansaray picked Fofanah out who headed the ball over SLIFA's goalie to secure league table authority.
This is the Cavaliers' second win after beating Ports Authority 3-1 in the league opener followed by two draws against Old Edwardians and Wusum Stars.
“After a draw with Wusum Stars in Makeni, I told the boys that the game against SLIFA was a must win", FC Kallon's Head Coach Amidu Karim said.
He continued: "I was impressed with the performance of the boys. And we hope to continue in that regard.”
“This result is a good one for us because FC Kallon are known to be title contenders. The fans wanted victory, and that's what we gave them,” Koroma added.
Newcomers SLIFA are 16th on the table with one point, having played three, registering two losses and a draw.
Head Coach Tamba Ngoungo said: "I appreciate my boys for the performance they put up against FC Kallon.
They showed bravery throughout the game, save for the single mistake made by the goalkeeper in the 81st minute
We are a new club in the league, and it will take the boys some time to settle. Our current challenge is lack of goal creation. It’s one thing we have to work on as a team”, he commented.
SLIFA go away to Diamond Stars on wednesday whilst Blackpool host FC Kallon the same day at the Siaka Stevens Stadium.
