FA Cup Champions Kamboi Eagles are due to leave Freetown today 10th February to take part in a CAF Confederation Cup match against their Algerian counterpart Amel- Saad Olympic Football Club.
The head coach of the Eagles Alhaji Foray aka Abedi describe their preparation for this encounter as 'one the best ever in the history Kamboi Eagles when it comes to such competitions.' He thanked the team's fund raising committee and football stake holders in Kenema for their hard work in getting funding for the team to participate in the CAF Cup.
The coach praised the 20 players he has selected saying, 'I have given them the best of technical and mental discipline which I strongly believe they will put into play in the match."
Foray said despite the ravages of Ebola ' believe my team can cause an upset because we have strengthened the squad with a few new players who are on loan from various Premier League clubs in the country.'
Some of the players who spoke to Politico expressed delight at being presented with the opportunity to experience the CAF Cup tournament, noting that their ultimate aim 'is to win the match in Algeria for the Kenema township as a whole.'
