Kamboi Eagles have written a letter of protest to the Premier League Board demanding that Mighty Blackpool doesn’t play their game in hand with RSLAF.
The Eagles who are currently third in the league with 33 points lead Mighty Blackpool by two points who are on 35. Mighty Blackpool who had their game with RSLAF postponed will move to third place if they win their game in hand.
Mighty Blackpool v RSLAF was postponed after both teams missed the date of the fixture. The game was supposed to play two weeks ago on a Wednesday, but RSLAF showed up a day before assuming the Premier League Board have communicated their request to Blackpool for the game to be played a day before.
RSLAF who made the request then were supposed to play Kamboi Eagles in Freetown the same week, on Friday.
Blackpool have since called on the board to give them all three points.
For RSLAF, if the game is cancelled the consequences could be much worse. The club is currently 12th on the table with 22 points. They will hope that a win will see them tie on point with Bo Rangers who are 11th.
According to a letter addressed to the Premier League Board by Kamboi Eagles they are against the idea of a game playing after the official end of the league.
“It should be noted that both RSLAF and Blackpool abandoned their respective fixture and therefore ought to forfeit their respective points. Rescheduling a match after the official end of the Premier League campaign will confer undue advantage to our opponents.”
“It is against best practice in the game to reschedule a match after the official end of the league. We as a club are vehemently opposed to this and we hope the Premier League Board will reconsider its position,” they further stated.
The Premier League Board have not responded to the concerns.
