The 2023/2024 Leone Rock sponsored “Salone” Premier League is gathering pace with players banging in goals. Some Goalkeepers continue to shine, while in-field players try to give their best.
Alpha K. Turay from Freetown City Football Club and Mohamed Bangura of this year’s debutant Bhantal FC have all so far emerged as the leading goal scorers with 6 goals each, followed by Kwame Quee of Old Edwardians with 5 goals.
However, Ibrahim Turay of Bo Rangers leads the top assists chart with 4, followed by Ernest Koroma of Bhantal FC, Santigie Yusif Sesay of Bo Rangers, Salieu Tarawallie of FC Kallon, Mohamed Kabba of Bo Rangers and Abu Komeh of Bo Rangers all tied with 3 assists each.
Mohamed Bangura of Bhantal FC is leading the race in the Man of the Match category, closely followed by team mate Adebayor Black, Abdul K. Turay of Freetown City FC and team mate David A. Conteh, Mohamed Kargbo of Lamboi, Alusine Dumbuya of Wusum Stars, Aziz Abala of Luawa FC and Saidu Bah of Bo Rangers all tied with 3 man of the match.
The surprising side of this year’s league, Bhantal FC is leading club with the highest man of the match with 11, followed by Luawa and Bo Rangers with 9 each.
Bhantal FC has also emerged as the club with the highest clean sheets in the league for now with 10, followed by FCFC with 8.
So far in the league, Referees have awarded 21 penalty kicks, where 16 of them have been converted by the takers while 5 players failed to score from the penalty spot.
This year’s premier league is the first to be named after an institution Leone Rock Metal Group as key sponsors.
