A 33-year-old man has appeared before Magistrate Mark Ngegba in Freetown charged with the illegal possession of a pistol without a valid license.
Alimamy Kargbo, nicknamed Shakur, a mobile phone mechanic of 29 Bangura Street was allegedly found in possession of a black Hellcat pistol with serial number: BB 205218 (9X18) Springfield Armory, at the Kono Lorry Park, Waterloo.
Led in evidence by Sergeant Lahai 9939, Detective Sergeant Issa Kamara, from the exhibit unit at the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters in Freetown, tendered the black pistol in court on the same Monday this week.
He also tendered one magazine together with eight (8) live rounds, two pairs of scissors, and a small quantity of bitumen in black plastic. The accused was remanded and the Preliminary Investigation resumes 30th October this year.
He faces four counts of Possession of Arms without license, being in the custody of arms without license, unlawful concealment of arms, and keeping a greater number of small arms without license.
