Man remanded for theft

Magistrate Gershon Lamin Marcathy has remanded Mualemu Brima for various offences ranging from stealing copper reflector light, to wounding and assault.

Brima made his first appearance on the 4th of October 2023 at Court No.2 in Kenema.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused was charged with three counts, one being unlawful possession of 39 copper reflectors along Kenema- Mano Junction Highway.

On count two of wounding with intent, the particulars of the offence recorded that the accused intended to disfigure the face of Karimu Alfred contrary to section 20 of the Offences against Persons Act of 1961. During his arrest, the accused had allegedly struggled with Alfred.

He is also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm which is contrary to section 47 of the Offences against Persons Act of 1861.

The accused on Friday 29th September 2023 was arrested at Tissor village whilst stealing the copper reflectors.

He was then arrested and brought to Kenema Police Station for further investigations, and later charged to court.

The matter which is being prosecuted by Assistant Superintendent of Police Daniel Konneh was adjourned to Wednesday 11th October 2023.
