Division One (I) side Edmond Michael Foundation says it has withdrawn its "consent as a club" for the SLFA-appointed coach of the national Under-20 team, Shooting Stars, "to carry on as head coach...under such circumstances where we now have two different sets of technical teams for the national Under - 20s, one appointed the ministry and one by the FA".
In a press release issued in Freetown, the Foundation said it has informed coach Alimamy Turay of the action, and that "whatever decision he takes will be his own personal decision and not with the consent of the foundation, and for which the foundation will not appreciate any embarrassment from his decision. The Foundation retains its neutrality and will not take sides between the FA and the Ministry".
Edmond Michael Foundation said it is communication its decision to the minister, "as we need to protect our Foundation, and all its members associated with it from being considered a party, in whatever way, in the current infighting between the ministry and the FA.
Coach Alimamy Turay is away in Ghana with the national Under-20 team where they are due to play the return leg of their African Youth Championship match.
