Musa Tombo cleared to represent Ports Authority

By Chernor Alimamy Kamara

Libyan club Al Ittihad Tripoli SC through the Libyan Football Federation has cleared Musa Noah Kamara (Musa Tombo) to represent Ports Authority Football Club.

An International Transfer Certificate (ITC) issued by the Libyan Federation on the 6th January, 2024 quotes the FIFA Regulations on the status and transfer of players which indicated that the player has fulfilled his obligations towards both his former club and the Libyan F.A.

The Certificate issued stated that Musa was free to pursue sports activities and can register with another Association affiliated to FIFA.

After the certificate was made public, Musa was seen posing in a Ports Authority jersey to confirm his switch to the seaside club which will prompt his eligibility in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League.

After he had first signed for Al Ittihad, he was in the country but never featured in a single match for them, only for him to post a video of himself insisting on returning to Sierra Leone citing security concerns.

Before his dramatic move to the Libyan club, Musa represented local Sierra Leonean clubs East End Lions and Bo Rangers. He had earlier signed for a Norwegian club of which he later returned home giving flimsy excuses for his return.

He has been without a football club for over a year and has played at various communities leagues in the country. He was at some point rumored to have signed for premier league side Luawa FC, until he released a social media video denying of ever signing for the club and that he was not their player.

Musa is one of the popular players in the country who scored against Cote D’Ivoire at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations held in Cameroon.
