SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (07/10/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.75% and 0.53% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 72 hours, from Saturday (10:00 am) to Tuesday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was higher compared to Ivory Coast (0.46%), Gambia (0.25%), Ghana (0.29%), Guinea (0.61%), Liberia (0.59%), Niger (0.17%), Nigeria (0.57%), Senegal (0.47%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.53%) and the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.63%). However, increase in total cases in Burkina Faso (2.87%), Cape Verde (3.67%), Guinea-Bissau (0.97%), Mali (1.05%), Togo (2.53%), Africa (1.45%), Europe (4.75%), North America (1.74%), South America (1.58%), Asia (2.95%) and World (2.52%) were higher compared to Sierra Leone. Benin recorded zero increase in total cases.

Cape Verde (9.68%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Ghana (0.66%), Guinea (1.52%), Guinea-Bissau (2.56%), Nigeria (0.09%), MRU (0.29%), ECOWAS (0.42%), Africa (1.13%), Europe (0.75%), North America (0.77%), South America (1.31%), Asia (2.48%) and the World (1.24%). Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (2.53%), Cape Verde (2.32%), Ivory Coast (0.69%), Guinea (0.94%), Guinea-Bissau (11.56%), Liberia (1.23%), Mali (0.61%), Nigeria (0.71%), Senegal (1.39%), Togo (2.78%), MRU (0.78%), ECOWAS (0.78%), Africa (0.81%), Europe (1.79%), North America (12.39%), South America (2.06%), Asia (3.81%) and the World (3.80%). Increase in recoveries in Gambia (0.09%) and Ghana (0.25%) were lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin and Niger recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
