Sierra Leone recorded 1.62% and 1.60% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Thursday (10:00 am) to Saturday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total cases was higher compared to Cape Verde (0.65%), Guinea (0.51%), Liberia (0.57%), Mali (0.32%), Niger (0.53%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.43%), Africa (0.90%), Europe (1.15%), North America (0.98%), South America (1.09%), Asia (0.61%) and the world (0.96%). However, percentage increase in total cases in Benin (1.80%), Burkina Faso (1.69%), Ivory Coast (1.93%), Ghana (2.17%), Guinea-Bissau (3.38%), Nigeria (2.20%), Senegal (1.71%), Togo (2.53%), and the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (1.95%) was higher compared to Sierra Leone. Gambia recorded zero increase in total cases.

Burkina Faso (3.94%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Benin (1.85%), Ivory Coast (1.27%), Ghana (3.70%), Guinea (1.20%), Guinea-Bissau (2.22%), Mali (0.90%), Niger (1.23%), Nigeria (1.42%), Senegal (2.78%), MRU (0.74%), ECOWAS (1.73%), Africa (1.19%), Europe (1.49%), North America (1.85%), South America (1.03%), Asia (0.53%) and the world (1.34%). Cape Verde, Gambia, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (2.64%), Cape Verde (1.65%), Ghana (1.86%), Niger (1.95%), Nigeria (2.74%), Senegal (2.10%), Togo (1.74%), and ECOWAS (1.99%). Percentage increase in total recoveries in Benin (0.31%), Ivory Coast (1.13%), Guinea (0.51%), Liberia (0.23%), Mali (0.43%), MRU (0.93%), Africa (1.12%), Europe (1.59%), North America (1.42%), South America (1.12%), Asia (0.62%) and the world (1.16%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Gambia and Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
