Sierra Leone recorded 4.44%, 5.77% and 9.51% increase in COVID-19 total infections, deaths and recoveries respectively over the week, from June 4 to July 11, 2021.
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total infections was higher compared to Benin (0.34%), Burkina Faso (0.09%), Cape Verde (0.81%), Ivory Coast (0.54%), Gambia (3.34%), Ghana (1.11%), Guinea (1.08%), Guinea-Bissau (1.52%), Mali (0.16%), Niger (0.58%), Nigeria (0.44%), Togo (1.37%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.64%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (1.23%), Europe (1.30%), North America (0.66%), South America (2.04%), Asia (2.05%) and the world (1.64%). However, percentage increase in total infections was higher in Liberia (12.88%), Senegal (4.63%) and Africa (4.95%) compared to Sierra Leone.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total deaths was higher compared to Benin (0.96%), Cape Verde (0.70%), Ivory Coast (0.95%), Gambia (2.21%), Ghana (0.38%), Guinea (2.33%), Guinea-Bissau (1.45%), Mali (0.38%), Nigeria (0.05%), Senegal (1.62%), Togo (2.31%), MRU (3.31%), ECOWAS (0.93%), Africa (4.31%), Europe (0.61%), North America (0.43%), South America (1.92%), Asia (2.42%) and the world (1.40%). Percentage increase in total deaths was higher in Liberia (8.27%) compared to Sierra Leone. Burkina Faso and Niger recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Also, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was higher compared to Burkina Faso (0.07%), Cape Verde (1.02%), Ivory Coast (0.35%), Gambia (0.82%), Ghana (0.73%), Guinea (3.68%), Guinea-Bissau (0.89%), Liberia (7.34%), Mali (0.21%), Niger (0.38%), Nigeria (0.03%), Senegal (1.37%), Togo (0.85%), MRU (1.98%), ECOWAS (0.72%), Africa (5.21%), Europe (0.63%), North America (0.72%), South America (3.00%), Asia (1.73%) and the world (1.56%). Benin recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
