SANUSI COVID-19 indices update (14/10/20)

Sierra Leone recorded 0.48% and 0.75% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 72 hours, from Saturday (10:00 am) to Tuesday (10:00 am).

In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Burkina Faso (1.77%), Cape Verde (5.08%), Ivory Coast (0.59%), Gambia (1.64%), Liberia (0.81%), Mali (1.48%), Nigeria (0.73%), Senegal (0.62%), Togo (1.46%), Manor River Union or MRU (0.93%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.80%), Africa (1.92%), Europe (5.74%), North America (1.88%), South America (1.44%), Asia (3.01%) and World (2.74%). However, increase in total cases in Gambia (0.28%), Ghana (0.23%), Guinea-Bissau (0.17%) and Niger (0.08%) were lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin recorded zero increase in total cases.

Burkina Faso (5.00%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (2.74%), Gambia (0.85%), Ghana (0.65%), Guinea (2.94%), Guinea-Bissau (2.50%), Mali (0.76%), Nigeria (0.18%), Senegal (0.64%), MRU (0.58%), ECOWAS (0.60%), Africa (1.84%), Europe (1.13%), North America (0.68%), South America (1.12%), Asia (2.55%) and the World (1.29%). Benin, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Niger, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.

Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (3.63%), Cape Verde (2.41%), Gambia (4.18%), Guinea (0.80%), Guinea-Bissau (3.13%), Mali (0.76%), Senegal (2.83%), Togo (1.95%), ECOWAS (0.87%), Africa (1.45%), Europe (2.11%), North America (2.35%), South America (2.02%), Asia (3.92%) and the World (2.75%). Increase in recoveries in Ivory Coast (0.69%), Ghana (0.16%), Liberia (0.40%), Niger (0.09%), Nigeria (0.64%) and MRU (0.71%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
