Sierra Leone recorded 1.44% and 1.05% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Tuesday (10:00 am) to Thursday (10:00 am).
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s increase in total cases was lower compared to Burkina Faso (2.22%), Liberia (5.45%), Togo (1.68%) and the world (1.46%). However, increase in total cases in Cape Verde (0.59%), Ivory Coast (1,22%), Gambia (0.73%), Ghana (0.34%), Guinea (0.32%), Mali (0.30%), Niger (1.15%), Nigeria (1.25%), Senegal (0.91%), Manor River Union or MRU (1.12%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (0.95%), Africa (0.98%), Europe (1.17%), North America (1.05%), South America (1.84%) and Asia (0.62%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin and Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total cases.
Niger (5.47%) recorded the highest increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (3.37%), Ivory Coast (0.72%), Liberia (1.20%), Mali (1.34%), Nigeria (0.88%), Senegal (1.88%), MRU (0.53%), ECOWAS (1.06%), Africa (1.53%), Europe (1.56%), North America (1.20%), South America (0.55%), Asia (0.58%) and the world (1.57%). Benin, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (2.66%), Liberia (20.70%), Niger (4.28%), Nigeria (1.35%), Africa (2.37%), Europe (1.29%) and the world (1.38%). Increase in total recoveries in Cape Verde (0.19%), Ivory Coast (0.32%), Gambia (0.05%), Ghana (0.22%), Guinea (0.17%), Mali (0.53%), Senegal (0.64%), Togo (0.49%), MRU (1.03%), ECOWAS (0.89%), North America (1.02%), South America (0.79%) and Asia (0.79%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin and Guinea-Bissau recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
