Sierra Leone recorded 0.08% and 0.14% increase in COVID-19 total infections and total recoveries respectively over the week, from September 5-12, 2021.
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total infections was lower compared to Benin (17.08%), Burkina Faso (0.64%), Cape Verde (1.85%), Ivory Coast (1.85%), Gambia (0.86%), Ghana (1.93%), Guinea (0.53%), Guinea-Bissau (2.22%), Mali (0.34%), Niger (0.66%), Nigeria (1.91%), Senegal (0.34%), Togo (5.23%), the Manor River Union or MRU (1.23%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (2.07%), Africa (1.64%), Europe (1.44%), North America (2.62%), South America (0.46%), Asia (1.95%) and the world (1.71%). Liberia recorded zero increase in total infections.
Ivory Coast (9.05%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Benin (4.44%), Cape Verde (1.59%), Gambia (1.55%), Ghana (3.33%), Guinea (3.69%), Guinea-Bissau (3.31%), Mali (0.37%), Nigeria (2.70%), Senegal (1.39%), Togo (5.67%), MRU (5.07%), ECOWAS (2.55%), Africa (1.75%), Europe (0.91%), North America (1.85%), South America (0.49%), Asia (2.09%) and the world (1.32%). Burkina Faso, Liberia, Niger and Sierra Leone recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Benin (15.69%), Burkina Faso (0.20%), Cape Verde (1.71%), Ivory Coast (2.36%), Gambia (1.20%), Ghana (3.45%), Guinea (1.44%), Guinea-Bissau (3.62%), Mali (0.25%), Niger (0.75%), Nigeria (1.98%), Senegal (4.12%), Togo (5.46%), MRU (1.90%), ECOWAS (2.79%), Africa (2.80%), Europe (1.57%), North America (2.02%), South America (1.16%), Asia (2.52%) and the world (1.95%). Liberia recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
