Sierra Leone recorded 0.42% and 0.54% increase in COVID-19 total cases and total deaths respectively in 48 hours, from Thursday (10:00 am) to Saturday (10:00 am).
In comparison, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total cases was lower compared to Burkina Faso (0.78%), Cape Verde (0.67%), Ivory Coast (1.04%), Gambia (1.66%), Ghana (1.14%), Guinea (0.85%), Guinea-Bissau (2.17%), Nigeria (1.03%), Senegal (1.91%), Togo (2.91%), the Manor River Union or MRU (0.91%), the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS (1.09%), Africa (0.65%), Europe (0.90%), North America (0.57%), South America (0.95%), Asia (0.56%) and the world (0.72%). However, percentage increase in total cases in Liberia (0.15%), Mali (0.05%) and Niger (0.21%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin recorded zero increase in total cases.
Gambia (3.62%) recorded the highest percentage increase in total deaths compared to Burkina Faso (0.72%), Cape Verde (0.71%), Ivory Coast (2.78%), Ghana (0.53%), Guinea (1.18%), Mali (0.58%), Nigeria (1.45%), Senegal (2.34%), MRU (1.40%), ECOWAS (1.33%), Africa (0.90%), Europe (0.96%), North America (1.03%), South America (0.98%), Asia (0.51%) and the world (0.91%). Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Niger, Sierra Leone and Togo recorded zero increase in total deaths over the period.
Moreover, Sierra Leone’s percentage increase in total recoveries was lower compared to Burkina Faso (1.07%), Cape Verde (0.92%), Ivory Coast (1.06%), Gambia (3.08%), Liberia (3.46%), Niger (0.64%), Nigeria (1.43%), Senegal (2.03%), Togo (1.75%), MRU (0.95%), ECOWAS (1.66%), Africa (0.85%), Europe (1.24%), North America (1.09%), South America (0.82%), Asia (0.61%), and the world (0.94%). Gambia (0.54%) recorded the same percentage increase in total recoveries as Sierra Leone. Percentage increase in total recoveries in Guinea (0.49%), Guinea-Bissau (0.40%) and Mali (0.24%) was lower compared to Sierra Leone. Benin recorded zero increase in total recoveries.
