The second list of appointed cabinet ministers has seen Augusta James Teima become the first woman Sports Minister of Sierra Leone.
Her appointment was confirmed in a press release from the Secretary to President Julius Maada Bio the president released the list of appointed ministers on the 15th July, 2023.
She replaces Ibrahim Nyelenkeh who according to many members of a popular Sports Whatsapp forum did well during his tenure as sports minister.
Madam Teima was until now Head of All Political Parties Women’s Association (APPWA) and current Chairperson of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) party. She’s also a Lecturer in the Physical and Health Education (PHE) Department at the Milton Margai Technical University (MMTU).
In hhe is the current treasurer of Sierra Leone Athletics Association (SLAA) and Head Coach of SPAC Athletics club. She was herself an athlete.
