Two notorious drug dealers Abu Yillah and Bawoh Kamara have been arrested in Freetown with over one thousand wraps suspected to contain the drug Kush, according to the Police Regional Operations Officer, Freetown East, Chief Superintendent Brima Bangura as he addressed a press briefing at the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) a headquarters on 8th November this year.
“The suspects, together with the exhibits, have been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at East End Police’’Bangura stated.
The Officer said on 6th of November, 2023, the Harbour Police Division also conducted raids in three communities in which one of the arrested persons was found with fourteen wraps of substance suspected to be cannabis sativa, together with three hundred and seventy-five wraps of what was thought to be kush. In another raid, Abdul Kamara was arrested with fifty-five wraps believed to be kush. ”The suspects and the exhibits have been handed over to the Ross Road CID ,” the officer said.
“The Waterloo Division (Police) conducted a raid at Kono Park on 7th November, 2023, they demolished ghettos and arrested a handful of people who are of police interest,” he said.
He asserted that the force is fighting against drugs, such as kush, tramadol and cannabis sativa.
