Sierra Leone Premier League Week 4 highlights

The 2023/2024 Leone Rock sponsored “Salone” Premier League is gathering pace with players banging in goals. Some Goal keepers continue to shine, while defenders show their best in tackling, as they all collectively make efforts for their clubs to claim the Giant trophy.

Week 4 statistics however comprise the league table, total goals scored, number of assists, man of the match winners, penalty awarded, scored and missed.

59 goals have already been scored involving 49 players in 36 matches in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League.

Kwame Quee of Old Edwardians tops the list so far with 3 goals followed by Suffian Kalokoh of Bo Rangers, Emmanuel Bangura of Luawa FC, Ibrahim Kargbo from Wusum Stars, Foday Komeh from Diamond Stars, Ibrahim Sallieu Bangura of Kholifa Stars, Abubakarr Samura of Bo Rangers, Ibrahim S. Conteh of East End Lions and Kabba Timbo of Lamboi with 2 goals each.

Lansana Thoronkah of Ports Authority is leading with 2 assists while Mohamed Turay of Luawa FC, Alusine Fornah of Bhantal FC, Saidu Bah of Bo Rangers and Alusine Dumbuya of Wusum Stars have individually been crowned Man of the Match twice.

Mighty Blackpool, Bo Rangerss and Lamboi FC are tied as clubs with the highest clean sheets-3.

However, Bhantal FC, Wusum Stars, Mighty Blackpool, Bo Rangers and Lamboi FC are  all tied with 4 awards each as clubs with the highest man of the match winners.

So far in the league, Referees have awarded 6 penalty kicks, Wusum Stars getting one in their match against East End Lions that was converted by Abdul Bangura. Also, Abdul K. Turay of Freetown City FC scored a penalty against Real Republicans.

In the match between Kholifa Stars and Mighty Blackpool, Fabio M. Kodah of Kholifa Stars failed to score from the spot. But Kwamie Quee of Old Edwardians FC scored a penalty  against Bhantal FC.

For the match between FC Kallon VS Kahunla Rangers, Saidu Fofanah missed from the spot.

This year’s premier league is the first to be named after an institution -Leone Rock Metal Group who are the key sponsors.
