Leone Stars new coach, Sellas Tetteh has left the chance of selecting Musa Noah Kamara (Musa Tombo) open. The Ghanaian tactician said he regards the great potential of local talents.
“I believe he is in country, he will be coming to training and we shall be comparing him to other players in his position. That is the most important thing,” Teetteh said.
“We have a lot of respect for home base players. Let us be patient and see how it goes,” he added.
Tombo who until three days ago was a player of Trellborg FF in Sweden, suddenly decided to return home on Monday abandoning his contract with the club. The player’s excuse for his return was based on the cold weather condition in the Scandinavian country.
Tombo’s move generated a lot of interest in his wellbeing as a player. In a social media post later, the player said his decision to return was based on his desire to play for the national team.
“My reason for retuning is because of the passion I have for this country. I want to play for Leone Stars and make sure we qualify for Nations Cup and the World Cup,” Tombo said.
Tombo was the leading goal scorer with 15 goals in the recently concluded Sierra Leone Premier League. He was widely regarded as the ideal player to lead the line for the national side. However, with everything surrounding him, there is no telling whether he will make the cut or be in the right frame of mind to play.
He is expected to join the home based team in training in the coming days.
