East End Tigers have set Le.130 million as the price tag for their star striker, Baimba Sesay. The striker who scored 12 goals last season is one of the most coveted strikers in the Sierra Leone Premier League.
“We have decided to let Baimba go for the right price,” Secretary General of the club, Junisa Tony Kallon told Politico.
Baimba had an amazing debut season in the Premier League, a performance which has earned him a call up with the national team. He is currently with the national team at the WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal.
Tigers finished 9th last season. This season they have embarked on a major squad building project. Kallon said they have already signed 5 players, including a striker to replace Baimba.
The new striker, Philip Neville is a former player of Buck FC, a division 1 team.
“I am happy and looking forward to helping the club,” Neville said.
Baimba’s price tag has not scared away suitors. Kallon said the club is currently engaged in talks with three premier league clubs who are all interested in the player.
“We are in talks with FC Johansen, FC Kallon and East End Lions,” he told Politico.
On Tuesday the club debunked rumors that Baimba has completed a move to FC Kallon. But with East End Lions finally locking in their man, Musa Tombo on a permanent basis and FC Kallon finishing strongly behind East End Lions, Baimba will likely consider FC Kallon over the other two clubs.
However, FC Johansen’s influence cannot be ruled out this early.
The new Premier League Season is set to start this month. No date has been announced yet by the FA.
