The sports Writers Association of Sierra Leone (SWASAL) yesterday extended their media blackout of SLFA activities for another three months and until they received a written apology from the Football Association. The decision was reached at a general meeting of the body in Freetown.
After a lengthy discussion, majority of members voted for the action to continue. The president of SWASAL, Mohamed Farjah Barrie said the decision was binding on all their members and threatened that "serious action" would be taken against members who flouted the decision.
Other matters discussed included the Biennial Congress of SWASAL scheduled for May 2015 in the City of Bo where elections will be conducted for executive positions.
SWASAL imposed a blackout on the coverage of SLFA activities following the deportation of three of their members from Cameroon during an AFCON Qualifier between Cameroon and Sierra Leone in September 2014.
