SLFA Suspends EE Lions

The Sierra Leone Football Association has suspended East End Lions Football Clubs from all football activities for pulling out of the CAF Champions League qualifiers this year.

The letter dated 23rd February 2015, reads… “I write to inform you that with reference to a correspondence sent to your club on February 9th 2015 with regards to withdrawal of your club from CAF Champions league 2015 for failure to comply with regulations for participating after instructing SLFA to engage your club".

The decisions is also based on CAF regulations which "state that teams withdrawing from a competition after the establishment of fixtures will be forbidden from participating in all CAF competitions for three years following their withdrawal’.’

The chairman East End Lions Sanusie Bruski told this press that the suspension letter given to them by the SLFA "is baseless taking into consideration the SLFA had suspended all football activities in the country so how can they suspend us from taking part in all SLFA football activities… we are not interested in taking part in the CAF competitions based of the prevailing situation in the county, and we are going to take this issue very seriously with the SLFA."
