Swimming course ends

The Sierra Leone Swimming and Water Polo Association has ended a 10-day level 2 coaching course which brought 52 participants from all over the country together in Freetown.

The Course Director Gerd Notelmann from Germany praised the coaches for "participating fully" in the programme. He said the world governing body of swimming considers the level 2 coaching course as "significant" to the development of the sport.

Notelmann called on the coaches to "take what you have acquired in the course very seriously and implement it to the swimmers".

In his statement the president of the Swimming Association Alhaji Fadlu-Deen said "such courses are very important to swimming coaches as it will help you to learn modern skill in the sport". He appealed to all the "participants to impart the knowledge gained to the young swimmers so that the country can boast of having better swimmers that will represent the country in international competitions"

Meanwhile out of 52 participants in the course only 24 passed.
