Dear ‘Mama Salone’,

Today is the 27^th April, 2023. Sixty-two years exact, it could be recalled that, on this day in 1961, few of your politically hungry children chose to ask for a hand on the wheel of leadership from the white-man. It has been 62 years on since then, and the rest is part of the ‘told’ and ‘untold’ stories.

Babadi Kamara is already a household name in sporting circles in Sierra Leone. His intervention in football in particular has somewhat given the game more meaning here, having brought class and foresight into it by embarking on ambitious projects more than any present day football stakeholder in the country.

The first-ever female Premier League to be hosted in Sierra Leone just ended with the Mogbewemo Queens taking the trophy to the far South of Sierra Leone. To get an insight into the entire process leading to the championship, the Premiere League Board Chairperson, Mrs. Asmaa James sat with our Editor Mabinty Magdalene Kamara.
