Hundreds of health workers at the Ebola treatment centre in Bandajuma outside Bo yesterday downed their tools and protested in front of the clinic, demanding payment of their hazard allowances owed them since September.
The MSF-run facility is the only such in the whole of southern Sierra Leone. This left 60 patients in the Ebola ward without attention, with the MSF Emergency Coordinator, Ewald Stars, warning that they would close down the facility if the strike continued.

Two weeks after heavily armed robbers attacked the home of journalist Joshua Nicol the police have so far made no arrests, despite what many are vital clues left behind by the thieves.
One of the robbers dropped his mobile phone as he fled. The phone, which contained information about their accomplices, had been with the police since the day of the incident.

Prosecution at the military tribunal, presently trying 14 soldiers of the Sierra Leone Armed Forces, has requested for a 2-week adjournment to respond to “no case” submissions made by the defense in September and October.
The team, led by state prosecutor, Gerald Soyei, on Wednesday November 12 asked for extra time, after it failed to meet a 5-week timeline it had to prepare its response to the defense team’s submission.

Residents of Sorogbeima chiefdom in the Pujehun district, east of Sierra Leone, have expressed frustration over the shortage of drugs in the entire peripheral health units, PHUs, in that part of the country.
Speaking to Politico, councillor of Ward 325 in the area, Francis Ngellay, said there were about ten PHUs in the whole chiefdom but all of them were without the required drugs since September this year.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said yesterday that it had sent to Sierra Leone equipment that was first used in nuclear processes but can help in quickly diagnosing Ebola and was in contact with other Liberia and Guinea about their needs.
According to Reuters, the UN agency said its specialised technology could make a "small but effective contribution" to combat the outbreak.
