Sierra Leone to miss out on MDGs 4 and 5
With almost 500 days to go to the attainment of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, Sierra Leone will not meet Goals 4 and 5 on the reduction of maternal and infant deaths.
According to Amina Muhammed, UN Assistant Secretary General and Special Adviser to Ban Ki-Moon on Post-2015 Development Agenda, Africa is lagging behind in especially these areas.

5 Ebola suspects on the run in Bo

District medical officer in the southern city of Bo, Dr Alhaji Turay, has confirmed to journalists at an Ebola orientation training in the township that five suspected Ebola cases are on the run.
He said “the issue around those suspects is worrisome for the district”, adding that a man just died of the disease in Jembeh, along the Kenema/Bo highway.
Nursing College joins Sierra Leone Ebola fight

Western African College of Nursing, Sierra Leone chapter, has convened a seminar on the spread of Ebola and its treatment at the Cathedral House on Gloucester Street in Freetown.
The event started around 9am with a march past, through Siaka Stevens Street, from the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital and attracted nurses in their hundreds who distributed brochures, displayed banners and used blaring speakers to send out Ebola prevention messages.
