Council Chairman batters woman
Police in Pujehun have confirmed a report made to them against the Chairman of the Pujehun District Council, Sadiq Sillah.
The head of the Family Support Unit, Constable Lahai Koroma told Politico that they received a complaint yesterday and that a medical form had been issued to the complainant whom he said had a swollen face an eye with blood clot. He said they were investigating the matter.
3 years in jail for graft

One of the health officials indicted by the Sierra Leone Anti Corruption Commission for alleged misappropriation of donor funds who was convicted in September this year has been sent to prison to serve a 3-year jail term.
Dr. Michael Mathew Amara was tried on 27 counts of misappropriation of donor funds from the GAVI Alliance international. He stood a single trial before the then High Court judge John Bosco Katutsi.
Police crackdown on lawlessness

Police Local Unit Commander in Pujehun has promised to make up for what he said were serious security lapses in the whole of Pujehun district, southern Sierra Leone.
Superintendent Nathaniel Brewah said that “there are high cases of lawlessness in the district, especially among bike riders” adding that “most motor bikes are unregistered and the riders are without licenses. Besides, the use of helmet is not common”.
Asset declaration form tendered in NRA/Ecobank case

The twelfth prosecution witness (PW12) in the matter concerning former workers of the National Revenue Authority (NRA), Ecobank and the Sierra Leone Shipping Company has tendered bank statements and asset declaration form of former NRA staff, Solomon Michael Hindolo Katta.
