The Sierra Leone Police Family Support Unit in Kenema last week held a two-day training of 40 officers of different ranks in Sexual and Gender Based Violence, SGBV.
Head of the unit, Superintendent Mabel Mena Fallah, said the training, funded by UNICEF, focused on getting a standardized procedure to investigate sexual violence across the country.

A man in his twenties has been convicted and sentenced to a fine of Le 2 million or 24 months in prison at Pademba Road in Freetown for carrying offensive weapons.

The chief executive officer of the Road Maintenance Fund (RMF) has blamed the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) for the many potholes in the city. Speaking at the government weekly press briefing last week, Abdul Kalokoh said that “it is the responsibility of SLRA to draw up programmes and not my department.”
