Two people were killed and 72 arrests were made in the wake of pockets of protests that happened in parts of the Western Area on Monday September 11, according to Media One of the Sierra Leone Police, Assistant Commissioner Brima Kamara.

Justice Samuel O Taylor has sentenced a 26-year-old teacher- Osman D. Kargbo, 24 year old Ibrahim Rogers, and Bockarie Sannoh (45) to ten years imprisonment each, after they were individually found guilty in separate cases of sexual penetration.
Before the sentence was handed down to teacher Kargbo at the Freetown High Court No.7, Justice Taylor said the man was indicted for having sexually penetrated an eight-year-old class three pupil on 20th December 2019, after he had sent her to buy top up for his mobile phone.

Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai the Lawyer for Mohammed Kamarainba Mansaray has confirmed to Politico that his client has been granted bail on "compassionate grounds."

The Media Reform Coordinating Group (MRCG) last week convened a workshop that brought together key figures from Sierra Leone’s media landscape, to Review the Draft National Media and Information Policy.
The workshop was held at the Dohas Hotel in Bo on the 7th of September, 2023.
In his presentation, the National Coordinator of MRCG, Dr. Francis Sowa, emphasized that the document presented is a compilation of discussions on key issues that could inform future policy decisions.
